30secondfics:

The two women watched in silence, their stolen glances not going unnoticed.

“Do you…” Arizona cleared her throat, “Do you remember Terra’s Cupcakes?”

“The little place that closed down a few years ago?” Callie asked.

Arizona nodded her head, “I miss those.” she said softly.

“Yeah, they were pretty good.”

“Their cupcakes were alright, but they had the best breakfast scones.” Arizona toyed with her throw blanket, “The ones with cheese and ham.”

Callie took her eyes off the tv and glanced at her wife, “I remember.”

Arizona rested her head on the back of the couch and gazed back at her wife. “You used to go out early and get them for me… whenever I was sick.”

Callie thought back to those days, “I remember” she sighed.

“Did you want to stay for the next show?” Arizona asked then the show ended.

“It’s getting late. I have work early in the morning.” Callie said sadly.

“Oh… yeah, you should probably rest then.”

“Yeah” Callie regretfully stood up, “Um… good night.” She awkwardly kissed her wife’s forehead and walked towards the door.

“Calliope…” Arizona caught her hand before she could walk any further. “Come back tomorrow night?”

Callie’s eyebrows raised in surprise “Uh yeah, if you want.”

“I do” Arizona gave her a weak smile and gently pressed her lips against her wife’s hand. “Good night, Calliope.”

It was barely a kiss but it warmed Callie’s heart. It gave her hope again.

request: morning noon and night

30secondfics:

~author’s note~ Inspired by Morning Noon and Night- Ryan Shaw (first dance)

.

Callie rested her head on her wife’s shoulder while they watched their Friday night movie. As the final credits rolled, she kissed her cheek and brought her mouth to her ear. “You remember what song this is, right?” she whispered.

Arizona turned her head to face her, “Of course I remember.”

Callie stood up and offered her hand, “Can I have this dance?”

“Calliope…” Arizona cocked her head to the side.

“You’re not gonna turn me down after four years, are you?”

“I-” Arizona released a breath and nodded her head towards her false limb.

“You’re still my wife” Callie smiled and gently pulled her wife up to stand with her, “… and this doesn’t change that.”

“I can barely walk yet” Arizona mumbled.

“Just follow me” Callie wrapped her arms around her. Arizona followed her lead and held Callie just like she did those years ago.

“Good, now step…” Callie swayed them to one side and Arizona glided her prosthetic across the carpet, “there you go.”

Callie smiled kissed her wife’s forehead as they danced in tune with the music. “I looong for your touch” she sang along, “I LOOOOOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!”

Arizona quietly laughed and pressed their lips to stop her wife from belting out the rest of the lyrics. Bringing her mouth to Callie’s ear she softly sang, “I’m staying with you, long after lovin’ is through… morning noon and night.”

request: elephant in the room

30secondfics:

~author’s note~ “Callie finds out Arizona is a Republican” I’m not American so #1 I don’t know much about the politics, and #2 from what I’ve heard, Arizona is probably not a Republican. I’m gonna give this a shot anyways.

.

“He has a point” Arizona agreed as they watched the debate.

“Did you just… did you just side with Romney?” Callie turned towards her wife.

“Why wouldn’t I?” Arizona creased her forehead.

“Um… he’s against gay rights? He won’t let us get married legally? Arizona you did not just defend him…”

“Yeah, that’s his downside… but he can catch up” Arizona shrugs.

“Arizona, politicians like that don’t just ‘catch up’.”

“My dad is a conservative man who caught up… your dad is a religious man who caught up… I think people can change, Calliope.”

Despite the fact that she was against this, Callie rested her head on the couch and gazed at her wife, “You really believe there’s a good side to everyone?”

“I do.” Arizona answers. “I mean, in time people will snap out of this homophobia shock and realize how dumb this ‘gay marriage’ debate really is.”

“What happens when they don’t snap out of it?”

“Oh they will… just like they did for interracial marriage… and if they don’t, we have enough of us to elect Ellen as president.”

Happy Grey’s day everybody! Here is the second to last chapter of Ripple Effect. Look out for the last chapter coming soon this weekend. Sad that this story is ending yes, but don’t worry more stories will come (and I am still writing my other fic).  I have high hopes to get a lot of Japril inspiration for new stories from season 9. Thank you all for reading and reviewing. My ask is always open.

when it feels too much

30secondfics:

“NOOOOOOOOOOOO!”

Sofia curls up into fetal position as tears stream down her face.

Arizona drops the frying pan and runs into her daughter’s room.

“Sofia? What is it? What happened?” She runs by her side to take a closer look, “Sofia, where does it hurt?”

“I can’t” the fifteen year old shakes her head, “I can’t!”

“You can’t what, honey?” the adrenaline causes Arizona’s senses to go into overdrive as she continues to assess her daughter’s vitals.

The teenager wipes her tear-stained cheeks and points at the television in front of her bed.

“Season 9 of Clay’s Physiology, mom!” Sofia continues to cry.

“For goodness sakes, Sofia!” Arizona releases her daughter’s wrist and throws her hands up in the air in defeat.

“What happened?” Callie comes into the room.

“Nothing” Arizona crossed her arms and rolled her eyes. “Our daughter has developed a serious case of Fangirling.”
